Technique Classes
(K – Adult)
From kicks and turns to flexibility and strength, our technique classes are where dancers sharpen their skills and grow in confidence. These classes focus on clean lines, strong foundations, and the tools dancers need to thrive on stage—whether in musicals, competitions, or just for fun.
Class Offerings
We offer a variety of classes designed for dancers from Kindergarten to Adult, including:
-
Acro blends the athleticism of gymnastics with the artistry of dance. In these classes, dancers work on strength, flexibility, balance, and control while learning skills like bridges, rolls, handstands, and more—always with proper progressions and safety in mind. Technique-focused acro helps dancers move with confidence and grace, whether they’re flipping across the floor or adding seamless acro elements to choreography.
-
Ballet technique focuses on strength, alignment, and control—the foundation of nearly every dance style. In a warm, supportive environment, dancers build core skills, improve posture and balance, and grow their artistry. Whether you're just starting out or refining advanced technique, ballet is an essential part of elevating your dancing. And if you know Miss Cindy, you know—you can never take enough ballet.
-
Jazz technique brings the energy! Dancers work on precision, performance quality, and musicality through dynamic warmups, across-the-floor progressions, and combos. Instructors focus on building strength, flexibility, and clean lines—all while encouraging personal style. Jazz is a great choice for dancers who want to move with confidence and power.
-
Tap is all about rhythm, musicality, and making music with your feet! In tap technique, dancers focus on timing, clarity of sound, and coordination through drills, exercises, and short combinations. It’s a fun, brain-boosting challenge that strengthens listening skills and body awareness—plus, there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of nailing a clean combo.
Build Skills.
Build Confidence.
Our Technique Classes are where dancers roll up their sleeves & leg warmers and build the foundation they need to grow as performers. These classes are welcoming, encouraging, and fun—but they’re also thoughtfully designed to help dancers progress. Like any awe-inspiring architecture, what you see above ground is only possible when it’s built on an incredibly strong foundation. When you see our students develop into beautiful performers—on stage and beyond—it’s because of the foundation laid in our technique classes.
Miss Cindy puts a great deal of care into the curriculum and the training of our instructors to ensure every child is building an incredible foundation in a nurturing, supportive environment- these are her favorite classes. Whether your child dreams of performing on stage or simply wants to feel more confident in their movement, our technique classes are the place to strengthen both skills and self-belief.

These classes are for students looking to build a strong foundation in dance, whether they’re new to the art form or aiming to refine their skills. Our Technique Classes are ideal for competition students, musical theatre performers, and anyone eager to deepen their understanding of dance. Focused on developing body awareness, coordination, and strength, these classes are key for becoming a confident, well-rounded performer.
These classes offer:
A supportive environment where every dancer can progress at their own pace
Opportunities to build confidence in movement and stage presence
Physical benefits such as improved flexibility, strength, and coordination
Teamwork as students learn to collaborate and support one another in a positive setting
Whether your child dreams of performing on stage or simply wants to move with more confidence, our Technique Classes provide the tools they need to succeed and grow—while fostering a love for dance.
Recital
Participation in our annual recital is only required for members of our Rose Guild. However, we strongly encourage all dancers to participate, as it is a joyful occasion that provides invaluable performance experience, greatly enhancing their skills, confidence, and stage presence.
In addition to our annual recital, we offer a variety of other age-appropriate performance opportunities throughout the year, including performances through our non-profit partner, Powell Civic Theatre. Whether your dancer thrives in the spotlight or prefers to build up to it, we support each individual at their own pace, fostering growth in both skill and self-belief.
Competition Technique
For our competition dancers, technique classes are where the real magic happens. These classes go beyond routine rehearsals to build strength, precision, and consistency—skills that help dancers grow not just in performance, but in confidence, teamwork, and character.
Whether you're dancing in a line or small group routine, our technique classes help you build the control, endurance, and presence needed to bring your best to every performance. Many of these classes are required for our competition team, The Rose Guild, and they’re a big part of what makes our team strong—on stage and in spirit.
In true CSPAC fashion, these classes remain warm, supportive, and focused on progress—not perfection.
Musical Theatre Technique
Our Musical Theatre Technique classes help performers develop the skills that bring a character—and a story—to life. These classes focus on expressive movement, storytelling through song and dance, and performance presence, making them perfect for performers looking to expand their dance abilities.
Divided by skill level and open to all age groups (K–adult), these classes allow students to train at their own pace while being both challenged and supported. Whether a student is just starting out or has years of stage experience, there’s a class for them to grow in confidence and skill.
At every level, we focus on building technique, enhancing performance quality, and providing the tools necessary to excel in auditions, rehearsals, and on stage.

Yes! Anyone is welcome to take a technique class—you just need to fit into the age group or skill level listed with the class. These classes are open to all dancers looking to build strong foundational skills, whether or not they’re part of the Rose Guild.

Body positivity and acceptance are at the heart of everything we do at CSPAC, so we don’t enforce strict attire rules. Dancers are welcome to wear anything that’s comfortable and easy to move in! That said, if you are looking to really refine your technique, we recommend a leotard and tights so instructors can see alignment and offer support.
Rose Guild dancers are expected to wear a leotard and tights with their hair pulled back. They’re welcome to layer with loose-fitting items like t-shirts or sweatpants for warmth and comfort.
The only thing we’re strict about? No street shoes on the dance floors. Proper dance footwear is encouraged in all technique classes and required for Rose Guild dancers.
