Dance for Littles
(Newborn – Pre-K)
From first steps to first stage smiles, our Littles program introduces young children to the joy of dancing in a nurturing environment. These classes foster confidence, coordination, and creativity while introducing fundamental movement, rhythm, and expression. With an engaging, play-based approach, children develop essential motor skills, social connections, and a love for the performing arts.
Class Offerings
We offer a variety of classes designed for dancers from newborn through Pre-K, including:
-
A sweet and simple bonding experience for you and your little one! With gentle movement, music, and sensory play, Baby & Me is a cozy space to connect and begin building early coordination and rhythm in a loving, supportive environment.
-
A joyful introduction to dance for toddlers and their grown-ups! With upbeat music, creative movement, and lots of giggles, this class builds confidence, motor skills, and the joy of dancing—together. (Dads, grandparents, and caregivers are all welcome!)
-
Our most popular littles class! Tots learn the basics of ballet, jazz, and tumbling in a fun, imaginative setting that encourages creativity, coordination, and confidence. A perfect first class for your budding dancer!
-
Tykes take things up a notch with ballet, jazz, and tumbling skills designed for growing dancers. We build on foundational technique while keeping it fun and playful—plus, they’ll love dancing in their very first recital!
-
This intro to rhythm and musicality is a blast for kids who love to move fast and make noise! Dancers will learn basic tap steps, explore patterns and sounds, and start building strong footwork. (Previous dance experience is required.)
What the Littles Will Learn
Our Littles classes focus on building coordination, musicality, imagination, and classroom confidence. From their very first steps to simple dance technique, children explore movement in a joyful and supportive environment. Along the way, they’ll begin to learn early skills like counting, shape and color recognition, and rhythm. We also help them practice following directions, taking turns, and expressing themselves creatively through dance.
What to Expect
In our Littles classes, we know that every child is unique—and so is their journey into dance! Some little ones jump right in, while others may take a bit more time to warm up. And that’s absolutely okay. Even if your child seems shy or quiet during class, they’re still soaking it all in. Many parents are surprised to see their child practicing dance moves at home that they didn’t seem to engage with in class!
We meet each dancer exactly where they are, honoring their individual needs, personalities, and pace. Our nurturing environment is all about building confidence, joy, and connection—through movement, music, and play.
Is My Child Ready?
The short answer is yes! Our Littles program is designed to gently guide dancers into the studio world with patience, flexibility, and fun.
We know every child is different, and we’ll meet yours exactly where they are—whether that means starting with a little extra support or jumping right in. We’re here to build confidence, coordination, and joy one tiny step at a time. Not sure? Come try a free class and see how it feels!
What to Wear
We keep it simple and comfy for our Littles! Anything your child can move in—like leggings and a t-shirt or a leotard and tights—is perfect. Ballet or jazz shoes are great if you have them, but bare feet are always welcome for trial classes.
The only thing we’re sticklers on? No street shoes in the studios. We’ve invested in beautiful, professional sprung wood floors to keep our students safe and dancing happily for years to come—and we want to keep them in great shape! Thank you for helping us care for our space and our dancers.
Parent Participation
Parents participate directly in our Baby & Me and Mommy & Me classes. For our Tots classes (ages 2–4), parents are welcome in the room to help ease the transition and boost confidence. For our Tykes classes (ages 4–6), we’ve found that dancers thrive and build independence best when they’re learning on their own.
That said, we know every child is different. If it’s your Little’s first time in class and you’re nervous about the transition, you’re more than welcome to start in a Tots class and gently transition to a Tykes class whenever they’re ready.
Families are always part of the journey—If you are not in the classroom with your Little, we host Family Observation Week each semester, and you can also watch every class from our waiting room through our in-class camera system. We want you to feel confident, connected, and part of the magic every step of the way.
Recital
Our annual recital is a joyful celebration of everything our dancers have learned and accomplished throughout the season. It’s a chance for your little one to shine on stage, build confidence, and share their love of dance with friends and family. With age-appropriate choreography, cheerful costumes, and a supportive atmosphere, our recital is designed to be a positive and memorable experience for dancers of all ages—especially our tiniest performers! Participation in our annual recital is always encouraged, but never required. And remember- no recital fee!
Benefits of Dance
Dance isn’t just good for the body — it’s uniquely powerful for the brain. According to Harvard Medical School, dance combines movement, music, and social interaction in a way that activates multiple brain regions at once. This kind of stimulation has been shown to strengthen neural pathways, support emotional regulation, and promote long-term brain health.
Our Littles teachers are warm, nurturing, and full of energy! Each one is specially trained to work with young dancers, helping them grow in confidence, coordination, and creativity—while having tons of fun along the way! All of our teachers are background checked and CPR certified, so your little one is always in great hands. Learn more about our teachers here!

It’s totally okay—tears happen, and we’re here to support you both! It’s normal for little ones to feel unsure at first, especially in a new environment. If there are more than a couple of tears, we’ll always check to see if you or a loved one is in the lobby for comfort. And if your dancer isn’t quite ready to take class solo that day, no problem at all—you’re welcome to bring them to our Tots class right after Tykes, where a grown-up can join them in the room for class. We’ll meet your dancer where they are and help them build confidence at their own pace!
-
No need to rush out just yet! For trial classes, comfy clothes and bare feet are perfectly fine. If your dancer decides to join us for the season, we do recommend getting the proper shoes for their class—but we’ll guide you every step of the way. We’ll send out shoe recommendations (with links!) after registration, and many of our families find great deals secondhand or through local shops. No stress, we’ll make it easy!
-
Yes! Siblings are always welcome to come along. If they'd like to participate in class, they’ll need to be officially enrolled, unless they are taking their free trial class—this helps us keep class sizes safe and manageable for everyone. Just watching? They’re welcome to hang out with you in the lobby or in the classroom!
-
No worries—we know life with littles can be unpredictable! We don’t mind if you arrive a little late. Just come in when you can, and we’ll help your dancer ease into the fun. No need to stress—we’re just glad you’re here!
